Our Community

We believe in fostering connection and understanding through communities built on lived experiences and mutual support. Our support groups aim to co-create spaces for sharing, connection, empathy, and shared knowledge.

Support Groups

Creating Communities of Support

At Unmasking Collective, we regularly host support groups on a wide range of topics related to grief, mental health, and lived experiences. We believe that support groups are a vital complement to individual therapy, offering a space to share experiences, reduce feelings of isolation, and build meaningful connections.

We have held support groups on topics such as:

  • Pet Loss Grief: Navigating the deep bond we share with our animal companions.

  • Violence Against Women: Creating a supportive environment to discuss and process experiences.

  • Loneliness in Your 20s: Exploring the unique challenges of navigating adulthood.

  • Friendship Breakups: Acknowledging and processing the grief of losing close friendships.

  • Vision Board Activity: A creative space to visualize goals and aspirations.

  • Unmasking Marriage and All That It Brings: Reflecting on the transformations and realities of married life.

  • Psycho-Oncologists Supportive Space: Building community among those working in psycho-oncology.

  • Pollution Rant Session: Venting and reflecting on environmental stressors and their mental health impacts.

  • Peer Supervision Circles: Regular spaces for reflection, learning, and support for practitioners.

Upcoming Support Groups:

  • Unmasking Queerness: A space to explore and reflect on queer identities and experiences.

  • Support Group for Adult Children of Parents with Cancer: Navigating the emotional landscape of supporting a parent with cancer.

  • Therapist Off Duty (Offline Event): An in-person gathering for therapists to unwind and connect.

Our support groups are designed to create a space where you can feel seen, heard, and understood. Keep an eye on our social media platforms for updates on upcoming sessions!

Community

While we attempt to offer support groups, we recognise the growing need to create a therapist community. We offer peer-supervision circles and therapist and mental health advocates’ meet-up! Check out our community highlights to know more.
